Future Goals: To traverse the world and teach English, and to help out mankind’s mental ills through research and to get published on my studies.
Who do you look up to? Why? Honestly, I would have to say my parents. They went through hell and back to come to America and somehow still have the strength to keep on working just to provide for my family. They serve as a reminder to push me to keep pursuing my education. What makes you proud of your ethnicity? I’m proud of the beautiful Khmer culture I have. Cambodia has such a rich art culture and you can see it everywhere in any period of time, in its architecture, paintings, sculptures, music, dance, etc. Also our cuisine is simple but very delicious :-) Curious, innovative, level-headed |

What have you done to make an impact on the Asian community, as well as Temple University? As an officer of Ascend, a Pan-Asian student professional organization for accounting students,I have learned to be a professional businesswoman. In return, I help others who also want to be successful in the business world. I was also part of the Khmer Youth Alliance, where we organized several fundraising events and successfully raised money to buy school supplies for kids in Cambodia. Lastly, as a previous officer of TU Khmer Students Society, I have participated in several events to raise money for a charity called Safe Haven children’s fund, which helps support disadvantaged, orphaned, and abandoned children in Cambodia. What makes you proud of your ethnicity? Knowing the struggles my country has been through and for the people to continue being optimistic is what makes me proud of my ethnicity. We have a rich history and unique culture that is unknown to many people. Today, many of the ancient traditions and historic landmarks live on even after going through a traumatic war experience. Humble, respectful, caring |

Who do you look up to? Why? I look up to my mom because she was able to survive the Cambodian genocide, come to America and work hard everyday to raise me and my younger sister. If you were to win, how would you represent the Miss Temple Asia title? If I were to win Miss Temple Asia, I would definitely try to work more with the student population to teach and raise awareness on the deportation issue that is taking a toll on the Southeast Asian community.
