What have you done to make an impact on the Asian community, as well as Temple University? I have volunteered in various projects that promote Asian awareness as well as help develop the Asian community. I volunteered at the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival which was held at the University of Pennsylvania as this festival promotes Asian-American film directors and showcase their work as well as to display how creative, passionate and talented these Asian-American directors are. I have also volunteered as an art teacher at a Korean language school located in Maple Glen, Pennsylvania. For two years, I taught art to children to help develop and blossom their creativity. Especially since art and music have been neglected or is not a priority like math and science, it is important for me to encourage creativity. By encouraging children’s creativity, I am slowly helping to develop the Asian community. What makes you proud of your ethnicity? There are no words that really describe how proud I am of my ethnicity. The culture and history of my country has come so far and has accomplished so much. Specifically, Korea has gone through a lot of hardships such as the Korean War and to overcome this hardship and grow from it is what makes Korea great. Also, Korea is very technologically advanced and their advancements influence and improve all other countries of the world, including the United States. To be a part of this is what makes me proud of my ethnicity. Determined, creative, compassionate |

Describe a strength and a weakness: A strength would be that I am very dependent. I am hard working, easy to rely on, and always trusting. My weakness would be that I procrastinate, sometimes a little lazy but still get things done.
Who do you look up to? Why? I don’t look up to just one person, but I look up to people who can make a good impact in someone’s life. I think it is very important to want to change someone’s life. It means a lot to the person doing it and receiving it. What makes you proud of your ethnicity? I am not ashamed of showing who I am and where I came from. I’m willing to explain what my culture is for anyone who is willing to learn. Caring, honest, and outgoing |
